Financial Internship Opportunity in Seattle

The Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC) is seeking a Financial Intern who has an interest in pursuing a career in the banking field. The OCC supervises the integrity of our national banks and thrifts, including the majority of the largest banks in the United States. Our culture strives to promote creative and innovative contributions by people in all positions and values and encourages diversity.

Candidates applying for the Financial Internship should have a graduation date during the fall term of 2016 or spring/fall term 2017 and must be willing to work full time during the spring semester of 2016 to complete 6-months of paid training. Frequent overnight travel is required; interns will be traveling to banks across the Northwest Region of the United States. Interns will be responsible for providing their own transportation to these work locations. The OCC will provide reimbursement for mileage and associated travel costs.

Eligibility Requirements 
·       Applicants must be enrolled, or accepted for enrollment, as a degree-seeking student in an accredited four-year college or university, graduate or professional school pursuing a baccalaureate, master’s or professional degree in accounting, banking, business administration, commercial or banking law, economics, finance or a closely related field of study

·       Sign a Participant Agreement which outlines responsibilities of both OCC and intern, the schedule of the work assignment and class attendance, the performance evaluation procedure and the requirements for appointment to a permanent position

·       Application of Veterans' Preference: Under Category Rating procedures, veterans with preference eligibility will receive selection consideration before non-preference eligible veterans within each quality category. 

·       Veterans' must submit preference documentation with “Application Instructions” documents below to be considered: (e.g., DD-214 Member Copy 4, SF-15, VA letter, etc.).
